Uncle Maddio's Pizza is continuing its expansion in the Northeast and opens its first Maryland restaurant in Frederick, Maryland. Owned by local franchise partners Doug Sellers and Kane Wright, the newest fast-casual, build-your-own pizza restaurant, is located at 5597 Spectrum Drive across from the Frances Scott Key Mall. Wright and Sellers have signed on to open 10 Uncle Maddio’s locations throughout the greater Washington, D.C. area, making them one of the largest Uncle Maddio’s franchisees.

“From the moment I experienced Uncle Maddio’s I thought it was the best-tasting pizza I had ever had and I knew I wanted to open a restaurant,” says Kane Wright, franchisee. “I can’t wait to introduce Uncle Maddio’s to the Frederick community, and I hope they love it as much as I do.”

The Maryland franchise partners are experienced restaurant operators and previously owned a Golden Corral franchise. The next two Uncle Maddio’s openings are planned for Richmond and Charlottesville, Virginia.

“Uncle Maddio’s is growing at an exceptional pace and we are looking for significant investments with franchise partners like Kane and Doug,” says Matt Andrew, CEO of Uncle Maddio’s. “We are excited to bring Uncle Maddio’s pizza to Maryland, Virginia, and throughout the Washington, DC and Baltimore region.”

Since launching its aggressive growth plan in 2008, Uncle Maddio's has signed franchise agreements with 57 different entities in 18 states. Many of Uncle Maddio's franchisees have previous multiunit experience with Jimmy John's, Firehouse Subs, Dairy Queen, McDonalds, Burger King, Krystal, Papa John's, Domino's, and Golden Corral. Uncle Maddio's is on track to have 300 restaurants open in five years with 1,000 units in development.
