Southern California’s ice cream shop game is about to change.

Churned Creamery, which has the exclusive rights to use special, automated ice cream machines from Italy, will be able to offer customers freshly churned ice cream straight from the machine for the first time at a U.S. ice cream shop.

The stainless steel double batch barrel freezers are fully automated and operate with the simple plug and digital display. Ice cream flavors are made fresh, using premium ingredients and then poured into the machine, which are constantly churning and can churn for 24 hours a day.

“We want to bring fresh made ice cream to Southern California in a cool way that’s different than what’s already out there,” says creative director Thomas Pham. “Churned ice cream is it. It doesn’t get fresher than that and we can’t wait for everyone to try it.”

The menu features 20 house-made ice cream flavors, including: Banana Nut, Five Cereal, Black Forest Cake, Lemon Zest, Hemp, Panna Cotta, Salted Butter Caramel, Tiramisu, Whiskey & Cream, Dolce Latte, Peanut Butter & Jelly, and Crème Brulee. Additionally, a variety of toppings will also be available, including: organic coconut pulp, fresh blood orange slices, caramelized pecans, honey walnuts, macaroon crumbles, and more. Beyond that, Churned Creamery will also debut its signature offering: the CroCream—a decadent pairing of warm and fresh croissant stuffed with ice cream.

Churned Creamery is set to open its first location at Union Market in Tustin, California, in February, with plans to open several more throughout Southern California.

Churned Creamery can also bring its churning ice cream machines straight to private parties and special events.
