Flyrite Chicken announced that the restaurant’s first location will officially open on Sunday, February 7 at 10 a.m. with a grand opening celebration slated for the following Sunday, February 14. The new restaurant is located in East Austin at 2129 East 7th Street, and will be open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Flyrite Chicken is Austin’s first “feel-good fast food” chicken restaurant. As part of the restaurant’s philosophy of only serving fast food that patrons can feel good about, Flyrite only offers all-natural, mindfully sourced food, including chicken raised without antibiotics and vegetarian-fed as the keystone menu option. Flyrite’s menu includes both delicious fried and grilled chicken sandwiches on buns from the beloved New World Bakery, chicken tenders, salads, and wraps, in addition to several vegan and gluten-free options. The menu will also feature a variety of tasty, real ice cream shakes made without artificial ingredients, coffee from Cuvee, and a rotating selection of local craft beers on draft, as well as sparkling and non-sparkling wine.

The team responsible for bringing Flyrite’s chicken concept to fruition includes founder and President Kevin Warden, a local Austinite and Which Wich alum, who will be supported in operations by Quirino “Q” Silva and Dallas Miller from longtime Austin staple County Line. Silva will serve as the director of culinary operations and Miller will handle day-to-day functions as the new restaurant’s operations manager. Additionally, the architecture design was created through collaboration between Marlon Blackwell and Associates and local firm Dick Clark & Associates. The interior design was created by Austin-based Fossler Interiors, who is also responsible for designing the interiors of several well-known Austin eateries like Swift's Attic and Wu Chow. The branding was developed by FBA [Foxtrot Bravo Alpha], who work with both national and local brands including SXSW and 4th Tap Brewing Co-op.

“The entire Flyrite team and I are thrilled to announce the grand opening of our very first location,” says owner Kevin Warden. “I’m excited to bring our ‘feel-good fast food’ to Austin, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the amazing job our team has done to bring this restaurant to fruition. We look forward to not only celebrating the restaurant’s first opening in early February, but to serving residents across Austin for many years to come.”

On Sunday, February 14 in honor of the grand opening of the first Flyrite location, the team will be offering a free beer of choice and koozie to the first 300 guests that are both 21-plus and purchase one entrée item at the new restaurant (limited to one drink per customer). Additionally, $1 from every entrée, beer, or milkshake purchased from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. during the grand opening will be donated directly to the Texas Restaurant Association Education Foundation, a state-wide nonprofit that provides the necessary resources to help restaurateurs confront educational and labor challenges with the latest innovations in education, technology, and training.

The original Flyrite Chicken will be located at 2129 East 7th Street, and the second location at 6539 Burnet Road is scheduled to open in summer 2016.
