1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizza, a fast-casual American spin on authentic, hand-tossed Neapolitan pizza, is opening in Chesapeake, Virginia, at the Great Bridge Shopping Center on Thursday, August 4. The new restaurant is located at 237 South Battlefield Boulevard.
To celebrate, the first 10 guests through the doors on August 4 at 11 a.m. will win free pizza for a year. In addition, all guests who visit the grand opening between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. and “like” 1000 Degrees Pizza on Facebook, follow on Instagram, or follow on Twitter will receive a free 10-inch pizza of their choice.
The Chesapeake 1000 Degrees Pizza is owned and operated by local entrepreneur Jim Samples, who previously worked in the mortgage banking industry. The location is part of a two-unit franchise deal signed by Samples, who expects the second restaurant to open next year in the Hampton Roads area.
1000 Degrees will serve craft beer in addition to personalized, made-to-order pizza. Each pizza starts with fresh, never frozen, hand-tossed dough, created with Neapolitan flour and available in both a personal 10-inch and shareable 14-inch sizes. Guests then choose to create their own pizza or order one of the 1000 Degrees Favorites.
“I saw the Hampton Roads area as a relatively untapped market for this type of concept serving fast-casual, authentic Neapolitan-style pizza,” said Samples. “1000 Degrees offers a consistent, quality product, and I look forward to opening the doors to share that with the community for many years to come.”
Guests can choose to top their pizzas with any of the more than 50 cheeses, sauces, meats, vegetables, and other toppings, for one flat price.

The company has more than 10 domestic restaurants open and one international location in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 1000 Degrees estimates it will open more than 80 units by the end of 2016, and projecting an additional 170 units by 2017.
