16 Handles, the innovative frozen yogurt and dessert brand that sparked the self-serve frozen yogurt revolution in New York City, will celebrate the grand opening of its new flagship store in SoHo, New York, on Saturday, December 15.

The store features a bold new design that merges sustainability with style in a lounge-like environment that brings out the fashionable side of frozen yogurt. SoHo marks the 29th location to open for the fast-growing brand.

The first 16 guests to check in using Foursquare during the grand opening festivities on December 15 will receive free froyo for one year. To be eligible, guests must check in using the Foursquare app and show the cashier their phone at checkout.

16 Handles' new state-of-the-art location includes a contemporary froyo wall that houses 16 rotating flavors of premium frozen yogurt, a fully loaded toppings bar, two 80-inch media players, and a party room that can be served for social functions. The 1,500-square-foot store features a sleek, multidimensional design that highlights the brand's commitment to the environment with elements such as eco-friendly lighting, the integration of sustainable textiles, and graphics that bring the outside in.

"SoHo is one of the coolest, most fashion-forward places on earth, and we're excited to open our new flagship store in the heart of a community that is all about flaunting their flavor through fun, fashion, and froyo," says Solomon Choi, 16 Handles' founder and CEO.

With 29 locations in five states, 16 Handles is known for setting the pace for the frozen yogurt industry by allowing consumers to "Flaunt Their Flavor." All 16 Handles flavors are Kosher-certified and carry The National Yogurt Association's seal of approval?

Founded in 2008 by Choi, 16 Handles was the first frozen-yogurt brand to pioneer the self-serve concept in New York City. The company has grown to 29 locations across New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland, and Florida and forecasts that 40 stores will be open by the end of 2013.

Committed to sustainability, 16 Handles uses biodegradable packaging and spoons. Each store plants 16 trees per day through a partnership with Trees for the Future.
