4food restaurant, dedicated to de-junking fast food, is celebrating the holiday season with a special “Giving Thanks 365” (W)holeburger. For each one sold this holiday season, 4food is giving back to the local community by donating 25 cents to each of its five local charity partners: City Harvest, GrowNYC, New York Foundation for the Arts, Team Red White and Blue, and Wellness in the Schools. The special "Giving Thanks 365" Holiday (W)holeburger, the latest effort in its ongoing "good4all" program, is $8.50 and is made with a free-range turkey patty, stuffing, sweet cranberry condiment, Provolone cheese, lettuce, and onion on a multigrain bun.  The new Giving Thanks 365 (W)holeburger will be available through December 31.

The brand believes making the right nutrition choices is essential for physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Its food does not contain hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated fats or oils, artificial sweeteners, preservatives, or artificial flavor enhancers. It provides personalized nutrition facts, advice, and menu recommendations in store, on its website, and also printed on receipts. Chairty partner Wellness in the Schools (WITS) inspires healthy eating, environmental awareness, and fitness as a way of life for kids in public schools. Through meaningful public and private partnerships with school leadership, teachers, chefs, coaches, parents, and kids, WITS develops and implements programs that provide healthy foods, healthy environments, and opportunities for regular play to help kids learn and grow.

4food is also dedicated to reducing its impact on the environment. 4food composts in store and recycles. It was built with natural construction materials that are abundant and regenerative. It employs sunscreen systems, LED lighting, energy efficient equipment, and purchases renewable energy credits from alternative energy generators. It is committed to increasing its use of sustainable power as it grows. Charity partner GrowNYC is a hands-on nonprofit that improves New York City's quality of life through environmental programs, transforming communities and empowering New Yorkers to secure a clean and healthy environment for future generations.

4food sources locally and uses seasonal ingredients. 4food has designed the restaurant as a community hub with free WiFi and power outlets by each seat to enable connection. Charity partner Team Red White and Blue aims to enrich the lives of America’s veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity.

4food also believes empowering creativity can lead to something extraordinary. The custom menu makes guests the mastermind of their meal and enables them to tailor it to their tastes, nutritional goals, and the purposes they are passionate about. Established in 1971 by the New York State Council on the Arts as an independent organization to serve individual artists throughout the state, the mission of the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) is to empower artists across all disciplines at critical stages in their creative lives. NYFA does this through three main program areas: cash grants and fiscal sponsorship, online resources, and professional development training.

4food believes in doing social good and being transparent and informative about how they do it. Its cows, pigs, and sheep are humanely raised while grazing and eating vegetarian diets. Wherever possible, 4food purchases whole ingredients that have neither been genetically engineered nor modified. Now serving New York City for more than 30 years, City Harvest is the world's first food rescue organization, dedicated to feeding the city's hungry men, women, and children. This year, City Harvest will collect 46 million pounds of excess food from all segments of the food industry, including restaurants, grocers, corporate cafeterias, manufacturers, and farms. This food is then delivered free of charge to some 400 community food programs throughout New York City using a fleet of trucks and bikes. City Harvest helps feed the more than one million New Yorkers that face hunger each year.
