5-Spice Asian Street Market, a 6-year-old award-winning fast-casual restaurant in Boca Raton, Florida, in its ongoing mission to bring to America hidden culinary treasures from different regions of Asia with uncompromising authenticity and quality, is now offering franchise opportunities to qualified applicants to expand in this emerging Asian fast-casual segment.
“Our loyal clientele really enjoy, and tell their family and friends about, the wide variety of delicious Asian dishes they can only find here,” says Melissa Leung, cofounder and chief concept officer, who was born in Vietnam and lived in several other Asian countries before settling in the U.S.
“It’s a buzz you can hear all around South Florida,” she adds. “They come from near and far expecting to find unique and special dishes at very reasonable prices. We are the only restaurant in Florida that offers so many popular, authentic Asian dishes in one place.
“What we serve you can only find today in urban areas of major cities such as New York, L.A., and San Francisco,” she continues. ‘We’re now planning on reducing the distances our customers sometime have to travel to enjoy our fare, as franchise growth strategies for 5-Spice Asian Street Market restaurants are being developed in the tri-county and other areas of the country.”
Technomic, an industry-leading research firm, says the fast-casual Asian cluster is still relatively untapped on a national level and has potential for major growth over the next decade.
Asian category only covers 1.7 percent of the total sales of the top 500 chains. Asian noodle, bowl, and grill concepts deliver everything today’s quick-casual customer seeks: cross-cultural tastes beyond the traditional Chinese selections, exotic ambiance, instant gratification, affordable price points, and cheerful, competent service.
“5-Spice is uniquely positioned to fill this demand,” says Chee Piong, 5-Spice director of franchise development. “Our key differentiator is our focus on Asian street foods, backed by a proven, repeatable system that can implement our vision.”
In 2013, 5-Spice Asian Street Market anticipates expanding throughout Palm Beach, Broward, and Dade Counties in Florida with stores typically 2500 square feet operated by a team of 15–20 employees.
"We are very selective in seeking the right franchisees,” Piong adds. “We want to make sure we find the right franchise partners who share the same passion and believe in our proven approach to deliver a unique experience, consistent quality, and great value to our customers, and ultimately to the success of our franchisees.”
5-Spice Asian Street Market will be attending and exhibiting at the Franchise Expo South at the Miami Beach Convention Center on January 11–13, 2013. Visitors are welcomed and encouraged to stop by the 5-Spice Asian Street Market booth 117 to discuss franchise opportunities with 5-Spice representatives.
