Afters Ice Cream will be celebrating National Donut Day this Friday, June 1 launching a new Coffee Meets Donut ice cream flavor made with donut flavored ice cream with real donut pieces and a coffee swirl. The Instagram-famous ice cream store, popularized by its unique and colorful handcrafted ice cream, will also be giving away limited edition Afters Ice Cream “Anti Donut Donut Club” t-shirts with purchase of their signature “Anti Donut,” the ice cream stuffed, sweet, glazed Milky Bun starting 7 p.m. on Friday while supplies last.

“This is the first time we’re celebrating National Donut Day and excited to align ourselves with a day that not many think we would celebrate as an ice cream shop” says Scott Nghiem, chief executive officer and co-founder. Ngheim helped develop and coined the name “Milky Bun” in 2014 for their ice cream stuffed donut viral phenomenon.

“It’s safe to say the without the donut, there wouldn’t be a Milky Bun, so we wanted to make sure we do something fun for our customers in the tongue-in-cheek way they expect from us,” says Nghiem. “We hope to see our loyal customers and new faces this Friday, June 1, to celebrate National Donut Day with us!”

Afters Ice Cream has 20 Southern California locations and operates from 12:00 p.m. to 12 a.m. daily. Locations include Fountain Valley, Tustin, Irvine, Costa Mesa, Fullerton, Long Beach, Cerritos, Alhambra, Rowland Heights, Pasadena, West Covina, Upland, Chino Hills, Temecula, San Diego, Riverside, Woodland Hills, Venice Beach, Sherman Oaks and Rancho Cucamonga.
