Continuing to expand its extensive training program, WAC Lighting president Shelley Wang announced that the company received accreditation from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) for its widely acclaimed LED/Organic LED Training Sessions. The company’s training sessions already have been accredited by the American Lighting Association, which enables participants to earn two CLC (Certified Lighting Consultant) hours. CLC is the highest designation offered by the ALA.
Based in Washington, D.C., the AIA has been the leading professional membership association for licensed architects, emerging professionals, and allied partners since 1857. Through education, legislative and regulatory development, professional education, and research, the AIA and its more than 83,000 members express their commitment to excellence in design and livability in our nation’s buildings and communities.
“The AIA’s accreditation for our LED/Organic LED Training Sessions will encourage architects to learn more about the important role of LED and OLED lighting in today’s projects,” Wang says. “With all of the confusion and misinformation about these lighting technologies, these classes will enable architects to become more informed and educated about specifying luminaires.
“This recognition from the AIA,” Wang says, “acknowledges our company’s due diligence with regards to our extensive research, education, and development of the latest energy-efficient lighting technologies available today.”
WAC has hosted LED/OLED Training Sessions at its offices and showrooms, as well as lighting showrooms and electrical distributor facilities around the globe. The Training Sessions are designed to reveal the truth about LEDs (Light Emitting Diode) and OLEDs (Organic Light Emitting Diodes) technology and product applications. The programs demonstrate how LEDs and OLEDs function and how to be an informed buyer of this new lighting technology. Many industry professionals, including designers, architects, lighting showroom personnel, and lighting professionals, have already attended the training session.
