Arcos Dorados, the world’s largest McDonald’s independent franchisee, announced a 5-year promotional alliance with leading entertainment brand The Walt Disney Company Latin America to add even more fun to Latin American families with the Happy Meal.

Happy Meal, which in 2019 celebrates its 40th anniversary, has been updating its menu offering to provide a complete experience for its millions of consumers throughout Latin America. In the last few months, it introduced enhancements to its proposal of kids’ meals to offer a richer and more nutritious menu, through adding more fruits and vegetables and reducing fat, sodium and added sugar. To feature the best combination of food and entertainment, it will now include the characters of kids´ most-beloved movies with this promotional alliance with Disney.

The first joint toy collection will be launched in December and will be with one of the most anticipated movie releases of recent times: Lucasfilm’s STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER, that will open in Latin American theaters on December 19. The agreement also includes toy collections and promotional activities on McDonald’s kids’ menus featuring some Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, Disney Live Action, Marvel Studios and Lucas Film movies (film studios that are owned by Disney).

“Two brands that have the ability to generate unique moments for Latin American families join,” says Santiago Blanco, Chief Marketing Officer at Arcos Dorados. “Disney’s magic adds to our responsibility for continuous improvement of the Happy Meal, that intends to offer new flavors and ingredients that are more aligned with current consumption habits and nutritional standards, and to provide experiences in our restaurants that are increasingly more attractive,” concluded the executive.

In turn, Cristina Giosa, Chief Marketing Officer at The Walt Disney Company Latin America, adds: “This promotional alliance adds Disney’s beloved entertainment to the Happy Meal through our stories and characters, generating a significant collaboration between the two companies that amplifies the consumer experience.”

Star Wars

The first collection of the promotional alliance between Arcos Dorados and The Walt Disney Company Latin America will be accompanying the launch of the Lucasfilm movie STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER. The collection will be composed of 16 toys of characters of the Star Wars saga, each including a surprise factor through hologram resources.
