Great news for Asian Street Dust and HotBoxIt sauce lovers – Asian Box is now available in Mountain View, California. An innovative lifestyle brand that bridges the gap between fast-casual and neighborhood restaurant, Asian Box opened a second location at 142 Castro Street in late December 2012 with a limited menu and hours. Mountain View residents can now enjoy the full Asian Box menu and regular hours every day from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Staying true to the ingredients and style of Asian street food, Asian Box showcases traditional cooking methods and authentic recipes from Corporate Executive Chef Grace Nguyen – formerly of Charles Phan’s acclaimed Slanted Door and Out The Door. Offering an explosively flavorful, authentic, affordable, and cooked-to-order menu with all housemade sauces and marinades, Asian Box uses only high-quality, all-natural ingredients and compostable packaging. Additionally, the restaurant set the bar in becoming the first gluten-free dining destination of its kind with the launch of the Palo Alto location in early 2012.

The menu is comprised of three easy steps: pick a base; pick a protein; add vegetables, “box toppers,” and housemade sauces. New at the Mountain View and Palo Alto locations are made-to-order Quickies, which showcase favorite combinations from the team, and include:
Hot Box ($9.45) – the spiciest combination includes six spice chicken, lemongrass pork, long grain jasmine rice, a caramel egg, fresh jalapeño and herbs, bean sprouts, pickled vegetables, crispy shallots, fresh lime squeeze, scallion oil, chopped peanuts, and HotBoxIt sauce.

Miss Jones ($8.95) – Chef Nguyen’s favorite box includes garlic and soy glazed beef, rice noodles, fresh herbs, bean sprouts, pickled vegetables, crispy shallots, fresh lime squeeze, scallion oil, chopped peanuts, and tamarind vinaigrette.

Mr. Chad ($10.95) – Culinary Director Chad Newton’s go-to includes six spice chicken, garlic and soy glazed beef, short grain brown rice, a caramel egg, fresh jalapeño and herbs, bean sprouts, pickled vegetables, crispy shallots, fresh lime squeeze, scallion oil, chopped peanuts, Miss Jones' Sriracha, and no-oil fish sauce.

Continuing as mainstays from the Palo Alto location, the Mountain View location will also include a featured Asian Rib Night on Mondays and a Kid’s Menu. Debuting at the new Mountain View location is a limited selection of gluten-free wines and beers.

The innovative Asian Box brand from FK Restaurants & Hospitality will continue to expand throughout California and beyond in 2013. Asian Box Mountain View is located at 142 Castro Street and is open every day from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
