Auntie Anne’s, franchisor of soft pretzels, is opening two stores in Venezuela this September.
A recent agreement with Inversiones Pretzelven, C.A., grants that group exclusive licensing rights to own and operate all Auntie Anne’s Hand-Rolled Soft Pretzels locations within Venezuela. The agreement calls for approximately 23 stores to open over the course of the next five years.
John Roda, director of international development and general counsel for Auntie Anne’s says that the timing of the expansion is ideal. “This is Auntie Anne’s first venture into a non-Asian foriegn country,” he remarked. Roda feels the Venezuelan market will welcome the company’s product.
