A&W(R) Restaurants will give away a free Root Beer Float with any purchase on National Float Day, Monday, June 20. Regular A&W Root Beer Floats will be available free of charge with any purchase between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. at participating locations. Even the smallest purchase qualifies.
“To celebrate our brand’s 86th anniversary and the beginning of summer, we’re bringing back National Float Day,” says Bill Ruby, brand leader for A&W Restaurants. “Last summer was the first time we’ve given away Root Beer Floats, and it was fun for our customers and employees alike. We’re looking for this year’s event to be even bigger.”
In addition to a free Root Beer Float with any purchase, customers can also enjoy savings on five other A&W favorites. An oversized flyer with five coupons will be distributed in the days before National Float Day.

A&W’s summertime celebration continues in early July when the chain will introduce a limited edition 2005 A&W collector mug. A&W mugs have been favorites of collectors since the 1920s. The 2005 edition is a 20-ounce glass mug imprinted with a full-color image of the A&W mascot, the Great Root Bear. The mugs will be available at participating A&W restaurants in the United States, as well as from the A&W Restaurants web site: www.awrestaurants.com.
