Buckhead’s first Ayurveda-inspired restaurant concept, {SAMA} Food for Balance, is set to open in Atlanta in winter 2017, in Buckhead’s newly renovated, rebranded “Andrews Square,” formerly “East Andrews Entertainment District.” The innovative establishment will feature warm and savory Balance Bowls, cold-pressed cocktails, smoothie bowls, an espresso bar, a 500-square-foot meditation studio and a shop featuring consciously curated products that promote balance in the home and body.

The concept comes from entrepreneur, yoga teacher and Maharishi Ayurvedic wellness consultant, Shannon Salter Sliger, who made her foray into Atlanta’s clean-eating scene with Dtox Juice in 2011, which she sold earlier this year.

“The offerings at {SAMA} are created to be delicious, first and foremost,” Sliger says. “Ayurveda principles teach us that food should be a multisensory and fully satisfying experience that engages our sight, smell and taste through various textures, colors and spices. It just happens to incorporate some of the most nourishing food on the planet, combined in a way that promotes balance and healing in the body.”

Guests will have the option to build their own custom bowls with a grain or vegetable base, a protein, two seasonal sides and {SAMA}’s signature super-food sauces and toppings. There will also be a menu from which guests can choose prefixed, seasonal Balance Bowls. Ingredients will be non-GMO, organic and locally grown, with vegan, nondairy, paleo and gluten-free options available.

The interior of {SAMA} will blend warm, earthy hues, like terracotta and moss green, layered with copper accents, evoke an inviting sense of welcome that is as apparent in {SAMA}’s aesthetic as in its menu.
