Ballard Brands LLC, restaurant group with retail brands including WOW Café: American Grill & Wingery, PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans, The Original City Diner, and

Boardhouse Serious Sandwiches, recently promoted former CDO Peter Boylan to president of the company and appointed David Mesa as CDO.

“Ballard Brands is experiencing tremendous growth through company expansion, new product development, and brand innovation,” Boylan says. “I’m honored to serve as president and lead our company during this monumental time.”

Peter Boylan, named president of Ballard Brands on June 18, initially joined Ballard Brands in 2009 as a member of the company’s Board of Advisors. In 2011, he assumed the role of CDO and has expanded the company’s footprint across the U.S. as well as several international markets. During his tenure as CDO, Boylan was instrumental in developing and implementing strategies that resulted in double-digit annual revenue growth. He also developed sales and operational strategies and an organizational structure to expand the brands in various nontraditional channels.

Boylan has over 20 years of professional and executive leadership experience in a wide variety of companies including public, private, venture capital, and private equity. Prior to joining Ballard Brands, he held senior executive positions in various companies including Honeywell, Inc. and the Coca-Cola Company.

Prior to joining Ballard Brands, David Mesa worked with Planet Beach Franchising Corporation since December 2003, progressively holding more executive roles at the world headquarters than any other executive. Most recently serving as their president of franchise operations, Mesa was instrumental in the company’s growth from 60 to over 350 locations. Prior to joining Planet Beach, Mesa served eight years as director of business operations for Allegis Group, the largest privately held staffing company in the U.S.

“I am excited to join an organization that is truly on the verge of hyper-growth,” Mesa says. “The caliber of people within Ballard Brands, combined with the tremendous potential for growth is what attracted me to this opportunity.”
