This past January, Barberitos kicked off its 2012 Healthy Campaign to promote weight loss and wellness with an alternative healthy menu and a nutrition calculater added to the website.

To prove that Barberitos and a healthy lifestyle is possible, Barberitos featured Jay Lowe, a customer who lost more than 70 lbs. by exercising regularly and eating Barberitos eight times a week for four months.

To take it a step further, the brand hosted a 90-day Healthy Challenge that provided seven contestants with eight Barberitos healthy meals per week and a personal trainer that worked with them twice a week.

All of the contestants shed pounds and became healthier from eating Barberitos and working out on a regular basis. The female winner, Emily Wilkins, lost 25.8 lbs. and 15.36 percent body fat. The male winner, Daniel Ford, lost 64.8 lbs. and 23.31 percent of his body fat.

Erin Thompson, another contestant, dropped her cholesterol by 60 points, reaching the lowest its ever been. In total, the seven participants dropped 187 lbs.

"We are thrilled with the great results the contestants had during the 90-day Barberitos Challenge," says Downing Barber, founder and CEO. "We are trying to let customers know that they can easily get fit and healthy by eating off the Barberitos Healthy Menu and incorporating activity into their lives.
