Auburn's first Barberitos restaurant, located at 1619 Opelika Road, is scheduled to open on February 4. Located at the Auburn Mall, the Auburn location will offer farm-fresh food for customers seeking a healthy and flavorful quick-service option for lunch and dinner. Mark Weeks is the owner and will be operating with his wife, Michele.
“We are excited to bring Auburn/Opelika it's first Barberitos and are grateful to call this awesome community home,” Weeks says. “We plan to serve the community well with delicious food, excellent service and an environment that the whole family can enjoy.
“It’s always been a dream of mine to watch Barberitos grow into a brand that communities love and respect,” adds Downing Barber, founder of Barberitos. “Our expansion throughout the state of Alabama is growing and this is a testament to our customers, and we are excited to be expanding into Auburn.” Committed to serving farm-fresh food, Barberitos offers vegetarian, vegan and glutenfree options, along with chargrilled chicken and steak for protein lovers. All of the salsas, guacamole, hot sauces, marinades and salad dressings are made from scratch each day.
The vegetables that comprise the many toppings from which customers can choose are also prepared fresh daily. In addition, full-service catering will be available at the new Auburn location, including boxed lunches and taco, nacho, salad or fajita bars that can be customized to serve a few to several hundred people.
