Barberitos announced the fast-casual Southwestern Grille and Cantina was named by “Flagpole Magazine” reader’s as their “Favorite Burrito.” The restaurant chain knows a thing about burritos, having won “Favorite Burrito” for 10 consecutive years. Founded in Athens, Georgia. Barberitos has grown to 50 locations around the southeast.
“Athens is the home of Barberitos, so it’s always a special honor to be recognized locally as the best,” said Barberitos Founder and CEO Downing Barber. “We attribute our success to cooking with farm-fresh food and preparing many of the restaurants’ menu items in-house daily.”
The 2020 Reader’s Favorite voting began on February 3 and continued through February 26. Full awards results can be found in the March 24 issue of “Flagpole Magazine.”
The original Barberitos opened in 2000 and is still located in downtown Athens. Now, there are five additional locations in the Athens area with the newest location in Prince Park set to open in May 2021.
