Consumers seeking a stylish and exceptionally functional single-serve beverage system that makes a variety of coffee, espresso, and tea beverages need not look further than their local The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf store. The Southern California–based specialty coffee and tea company introduced the biggest innovation in its 50-year history, the CBTL System, which combines advanced Italian technology and design at an accessible price to create a cup with just one touch.

Designed to be used exclusively with The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf hand-selected premium espresso, coffee, and hand-plucked whole-leaf tea capsules, the CBTL System allows users to re-create their favorite The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf espresso, brewed coffee, brewed tea, and specialty beverages from the convenience of their home.

“When we set out to enter this business, we wanted to bring consumers a significant improvement to the coffee makers already on the market. And we believe we did just that,” says Mel Elias, CEO and president of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. “The CBTL is unique in that it not only prepares coffee, tea, and espresso—unlike its competitors—but it also brings our existing customers their favorite The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf beverages in the convenience of their own home, at a touch of a button.”

Wanting to provide customers the best of its class, the company searched for a partner who shared the same vision in providing a quality product in both design and function. That partner was Caffitaly System. Both CBTL System machines, the Contata and the Kaldi models, offer automatic beverage proportioning and a unique twin pressure system to ensure consistency of taste and to capture the aroma, texture, and flavor of a perfect cup of espresso, coffee, or tea. It features easy capsule insertion and automatic ejection, a large capsule drawer that holds up to 10 used capsules, and an energy saving function. The Contata is available in gray/black and is priced at $129.95. The Kaldi, with an ultra-sleek design, is available in metallic red, metallic blue/silver, and metallic white/silver and priced at $149.95.

Each CBTL capsule is hermetically sealed to prolong freshness and preserve the delicate aroma. In addition, the internal double filtration system ensures evenly balanced extraction and optimal flavor. The single-serve capsules are packaged 10 per box with a retail price of $5.50. Flavors include four espressos, four coffees, and four teas: Italian Espresso; Continental Espresso; Premium Espresso; Premium Decaf Espresso; Viennese Brew; French Brew; House Brew; House Decaf Brew; Chai Tea; English Breakfast Tea; Tropical Passion Tea; and Moroccan Mint Tea

In addition, exclusive powders—the French Deluxe Vanilla and Special Dutch Chocolate—are sold in single-serve sachets, eight per box for $7.95, allowing customers to recreate the creamy, smooth specialty beverages The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is known for in their own home.

The CBTL Milk Frother produces heated or frothed milk to re-create The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf specialty beverages, including latte, cappuccino, café mocha, and macchiato. Its one-touch technology offers both automatic heat control, so milk never burns, and no-guess measurement indicators for correct proportions of milk and froth. A cordless frothing pitcher, the CBTL Milk Frother is available in black and white and priced at $59.95. Other CBTL products include: Hand-Held Frother; 8-Inch Whisk; Capsule Display Holders, to keep capsules within easy reach; and a Capsule Presentation Box, which contains 24 capsules and allows you to sample all 12 flavors offered.
