Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks announced a five-unit deal for South Carolina. This marks the brand’s second franchise deal signing in less than a month – an impressive milestone considering the brand just launched their franchise program at the end of November. Local South Carolinians can now gear up to enjoy Big Dave’s famous cheesesteaks and eggrolls featuring top-notch beef, chicken, and salmon.
The franchise will be spearheaded by two accomplished entrepreneurs Marc Brown, a seasoned personal injury attorney, and Frank Williams III, Aka, The Shuler King, a renowned comedian and funeral home owner. Excited to bring Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks to the Palmetto State, Brown and Williams, both passionate about food and community service, are eager to create unforgettable experiences for patrons across South Carolina and are targeting Columbia, Greenville, and Spartanburg for their first locations.
Reflecting on their venture into the restaurant industry, Brown and Williams expressed their enthusiasm:
“I consider myself a foodie and have always been interested in the restaurant industry. I’ve been following Big Dave’s for a few years. As soon as I heard that Big Dave’s was franchising, I immediately reached out. I knew I wanted to work with this brand,” says Brown. Williams adds, “I’m excited to be a part of the Big Dave’s Cheesesteak brand. Derrick and his wife are great people who are building a legacy and creating opportunities for others. They’re exactly what Marc Brown and I stand for.”
Hayes’, moving quickly on his franchising journey expressed his excitement, “Marc and Frank are both incredible people with even more incredible backgrounds and I couldn’t be more excited for them to take Big Dave’s to SC.” Said Hayes’ “Locking in my second franchise deal in under 30 days feels surreal – and this is just the beginning. There’s a lot more brewing in the pipeline as we ride this wave of incredible growth.” Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks’ President, Jessie Bray, also expressed his enthusiasm for the new franchise partnership, saying, “Marc and Frank’s relationship and commitment to the community is a great fit for our company. I look forward to supporting them and their team.”
Hayes has been accepting franchise applications for only a few months and is making a significant step toward realizing his goal of signing 100 franchise locations by the end of 2025. The brands first deal was just announced a few weeks ago for 10 units in Florida with Derek Lewis, former PepsiCo president. With a solid team in place, the brand is fully equipped to support franchisees. The brand currently has presence across Georgia and in Mercedes Benz Stadium, home to the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons. Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks is set to open a new location in Charlotte, North Carolina, this Spring.
Originating as Big Dave’s Water Ice in a gas station in Dunwoody, Georgia, in 2014, the brand evolved from Italian ice to cheesesteaks. The turning point occurred when fellow Philadelphian Eve endorsed Hayes’ cheesesteaks, causing a surge in business. Hayes, inspired by his late father, strives to establish Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks in major cities nationwide and is actively seeking franchisees who share his vision of community, peace, and culture.
