On April 8, there will be a full solar eclipse passing over North America. This is a rare event that occurs when the moon passes between the sun and Earth, completely blocking the face of the sun for those in the “path of totality.” The full solar eclipse will be visible from areas in Illinois, Indiana and Ohio, with a partial eclipse visible across many other states.

To celebrate this incredible natural phenomenon, BIGGBY COFFEE is adding two new drinks to the menu starting on April 8: The Solar Flare Creme Freeze and The Eclipse BIGGBY Blast. These special drinks will be available at all BIGGBY COFFEE locations nationwide, including those that will be directly in the path of the eclipse, like Lima, Ohio, which is expecting an influx of up to 200,000 people who are traveling to the area to witness the event.

The Solar Flare Creme Freeze is a mango Creme Freeze. It is similar to the brand’s well-loved Vampire Creme Freeze, with the addition of strawberry flavoring in the bottom and middle of the drink. The Eclipse BIGGBY Blast is a dragonfruit and blue raspberry flavored bubbly energy beverage. This drink can be made frozen, as well and can also be made without caffeine if you so wish.

“One of our core values at BIGGBY COFFEE is to have fun. What better way to celebrate this rare solar eclipse than launching two new drinks that embody the spirit of this special event? We’re excited to join in on the eclipse festivities on April 8,” says BIGGBY COFFEE Director of Marketing, Jaime Balazy.

Please note that special glasses or viewing apparatus are required for safely viewing a solar eclipse. Under no circumstances should you look directly at the sun during an eclipse.
