Burger King opened its first restaurant in Cyprus today, one of four new locations to be built on the island nation in the next year. The openings will mean a total investment of US$5 million, and BK expects this expansion will create more than 200 new jobs.

This opening underlines Burger King international growth strategy, as it follows the recent opening of BK’s 3,000th international location. Burger King International has a restaurant portfolio growth rate of 62 percent over the last five years.
