Boardwalk Fresh Burgers & Fries announces its expansion into Oregon.
Lucky Patel, master developer for Boardwalk Fresh Burgers and Fries, has begun his expansion in Oregon, recently bringing on board new franchisees, business partners Anu Kumar and Nick Kumar. Anu and Nick recently signed a lease for their first location in Peterkort Town Square, 10950 Southwest Barnes Road in Portland.
Anu Kumar explains, “My first location was in a complex that I used to work in 13 years ago as a manager of a Subway. It just seemed like a good fit, since I already knew how the area businesses were performing.”
They plan further expansion in partnership with Lucky Patel in Portland.
“I plan to expand in the Portland metro area, depending on the available spaces out there,” Anu Kumar says. “Currently, with the down economy, it is a perfect time to find a A+ location that five years ago would have never been available.”
Anu and Nick both have backgrounds in the hospitality industry. They had both looked into other brands, but as Anu explains, “I heard about Boardwalk through various trade magazines and websites such as fastcasual.com. What attracted me to Boardwalk was the system they have in place that has been successful for 30 plus years.”
When asked why the burger business attracted them, Anu replies, “It seems that the better burger sector is on the rise, and with so many concepts out there, it was very important to choose one that would be around. I felt it best to choose one that already had experience in doing business with franchisees.”
Boardwalk Fresh Burgers & Fries has more than 450 units in development, which include Lucky Patel’s plans to open more than 30 Boardwalk Fresh Burgers & Fries restaurants in Oregon alone, with a focus on the Portland metropolitan area and Cowlitz County, Washington.
