National Gyro Day comes around just once every year, so you know Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh is planning to celebrate in style.

On National Gyro Day on September 1, Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh is inviting guests to bring a friend and enjoy two of its signature gyros for the price of one.

“Of course, every day is Gyro Day at Garbanzo, but we thought this would be the perfect opportunity for our fans to introduce a friend or family member to this classic dish that’s quietly becoming a new staple of Americans’ diets,” says James Park, CEO of the Denver-based chain. “We use the freshest, simplest ingredients derived from Old World recipes, which is why our gyros are so delicious. So come by and give them a try.”

Guests start by choosing how they want their gyro meat to be served—in a traditional flatbread or over a salad. Then it’s time to pile on the veggies. Choose from chipotle hummus, romaine lettuce, tabbouleh salad, tomato cucumber salad, seasoned rice, baba ganoush, red cabbage, red onions, pickles, pepperoncini, and Kalamata olives. Finally, top it all off with one of Garbanzo’s seven scratch-made sauces. More adventurous gyro lovers can even choose to top their authentic gyro with fries.

This buy-one-gyro, get-one-free offer is only available on September 1.

“We like to think of the gyro as Mediterranean comfort food, and if you’re looking for a uniquely delicious and nutritious experience, Garbanzo is the place for you,” Park adds. “Our menu is about teaching people how easy it is to eat healthy without sacrificing flavor or convenience. It’s hard to go cold-turkey on fast food, but it’s pretty easy to trade a burrito for a gyro.”

Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh is headquartered in Colorado with 22 locations nationwide.
