Bojangles’ is celebrating the people and restaurants that have made the brand a favorite destination for consumers throughout the southeastern U.S. At its recent Franchise Business Conference in Concord, North Carolina, Bojangles’ announced the winners of the 2009 ShowBo awards.

Patrick Sheline, unit director at 5445 Asheville Highway in Naples, North Carolina, was honored with the first place ShowBo award for outstanding operations. Sheline received a $10,000 check and the prestigious ShowBo ring for his accomplishments. This unit is owned by Bojangles’ of Western NC.

“Patrick, along with all of the ShowBo finalists, consistently demonstrates the spirit of Bojangles’—great operations, extraordinary customer experiences, and the best food in the business,” says Randy Kibler, president and CEO of Bojangles’ Restaurants Inc. “The ShowBo awards are truly an opportunity for the Bojangles’ family to celebrate another outstanding year.”

Second place ShowBo award went to Joan Griffin, unit director at 3021 Charleston Highway in Cayce, South Carolina. Griffin received a $3,000 check and ShowBo ring for the performance of her location. This unit is owned by Coastal Operations LLC.

Third place ShowBo award went to Nancy Valentino, unit director at 30 Market Place Drive location in Rocky Mount, Virginia. Valentino received $2,000 as the recipient of the third place ShowBo award. This unit is owned by Arrington Enterprises, which owns and operates Bojangles’ restaurants in south-central Virginia.

“The ShowBo awards are our special way of showing the appreciation we have for the outstanding efforts of our franchise locations’ management and crew,” says René Dexter, director of training for Bojangles’ Restaurants Inc. “Every year, we hope the ShowBo awards inspire others to keep providing their communities with the food and customer service Bojangles’ fans have come to expect.”

As part of the ShowBo award judging process, Bojangles’ conducts an extensive evaluation process of each of its restaurants to determine winners. The assessment for the ShowBo awards includes three rounds of unannounced inspections conducted throughout three months by three sets of judges. Each judge awards points to restaurants based on a rigorous set of operating standards. The evaluation is based on customer satisfaction, food quality and overall experience.
