Renowned Chef/Owner Gabriele Bonci of Rome-based Bonci Pizza will open the doors to his newest outpost in sunny Miami this winter. The new location will add Roman-Style pizza to the eclectic Wynwood neighborhood. Located at 222 NW 24th Street, diners can appreciate pizza as an art form with creative al-taglio style offerings.
Chef Bonci, known as the “Michelangelo of Pizza,” by Vogue Italia, opened Pizzarium Bonci in Rome in 2003 using three-ingredient dough, three-ingredient pies, and a pair of scissors to serve hungry and hurried guests. His guiding principle is quality above all, whether it’s the sourcing of each ingredient or patiently allowing the dough to rise for 72 hours.
Soon there will be no need to hop on a transcontinental flight to Rome as guests can enjoy this Anthony Bourdain-approved pizza later this month in Miami. Pizza selections rotate daily with unique and flavorful offerings based on the season to ensure fresh and high-quality ingredients. Signature pizza selections include: Meatball, Sopressata, Zucchini Ricotta Lemon Black Pepper and Potato Mozzarella. Each slice embodies Bonci’s passion for inventiveness and bringing forth the highest quality ingredients. In addition to pizza, guests can expect to find Rome’s staple street food, Suppli and three authentic Italian salads. Salads include the Antipasto with red wine vinaigrette, Mixed Greens with cherry tomatoes, shaved parmesan and a lemon dressing and the Classic Caprese with balsamic.
In honor of the big move down to Magic City, Chef Bonci has commemorated the spirit of Miami with his take on the classic Cubano, which will be exclusive to the Miami location. The proprietary dough will transform from pizza base to sandwich bun to encase the staple ingredients of Little Havana’s favorite sandwich. Diners can expect the same fluffy, airy texture of Bonci’s dough for a fresh take on the beloved dish.
“We are excited to continue expanding and make Miami Bonci’s new home in the U.S.,” says Chef/Owner Gabriele Bonci. “The city has a vibrant energy and exciting culinary scene and we look forward to sharing our Roman-style pizza with visitors and guests alike.”
The restaurant is located in the thriving Wynwood Cube and will house 70 seats and include a lush patio with 14 tables. Bonci will offer the same fast, fresh and affordable pizza that he is known for in Rome with design details and toppings inspired by the great city of Miami
