Brick City Vegan, formerly known as Urban Vegan, has reached a new milestone by officially selling over 26,000 of their house made vegan burgers at their Newark location – offered in three delicious flavors: chickpea, sweet potato, and black eyed pea. Founded in 2021, Brick City Vegan opened in downtown Newark with a goal of bringing good tasting, good for you vegan food to the community. The restaurant has most recently expanded to Montclair, New Jersey, which opened their doors to the public this fall.

Brick City Vegan in Newark and Montclair are both selling frozen burger patties for pickup so customers can make Brick City Vegan’s signature burgers in the comfort of their homes. These are available in store only.

Founder Adenah Bayoh believes that eating vegan doesn’t have to mean giving up on the foods you love. Each menu item at Brick City Vegan is 100% vegan, with gluten free options available as well. The founding principle of Brick City Vegan is that when you eat well, you feel better. Vegan diets are better for the planet, and Brick City Vegan uses clean, high-quality ingredients in each dish prepared.

“Our vegan burgers are made in-house, and we use the freshest ingredients,” says Adenah. “Eating vegan does not have to be hard, and Brick City Vegan’s goal is to show people that they don’t need to sacrifice an enjoyable meal to be vegan. Our menu is built to meet the cravings of everyone, providing high-quality meals to fuel people to be the best versions of themselves.”

Culinary mastermind behind the menu, Emeka Onugha is the man behind the burgers. Emeka has been cooking and experimenting with vegan recipes since he was eight years old, creating vegan meals for his older sister. He has been with Brick City Vegan since their doors first opened, and continues to bring good for you, good tasting food, to the people of New Jersey.

Brick City Vegan’s burgers are one option of a wide variety on the brand’s menu, ensuring anyone can find a meal they will enjoy. The menu also includes country biscuits, sandwiches, power bowls, fruit shakes and natural drinks.
