Bojangles announced the appointment of Brooks Speirs as the company’s new Vice President of Franchise Sales. Speirs will play a pivotal role in advancing Bojangles’ franchise expansion strategy in both existing and new markets across the U.S.
With more than 20 years of experience in franchise development, Speirs has driven strong growth for several national restaurant brands. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Franchise Development for Taco John’s International, where he led franchise recruitment, sales, real estate, and construction. During his time with Taco John’s, Speirs was recognized as the Franchise Times Dealmaker of the Year for securing the largest development agreement in the company’s history.
“Throughout my career in the franchise and restaurant industries, I have followed Bojangles’ success from afar and couldn’t be more excited to join the team and build on its impressive momentum,” says Speirs. “The brand’s commitment to quality and providing exceptional Southern hospitality makes it a standout concept in the QSR segment, and I look forward to bringing Bo Time to even more communities across the country.”
In his new role, Brooks Speirs will report to Jim Cannon, the Chief Development Officer at Bojangles. “Adding Brooks to our team is an important next step as we continue to expand the Bojangles footprint beyond our core markets in the Southeast. He has a proven track record of accelerating brands’ growth, and we are confident that he will do the same at Bojangles,” said Cannon. “Brooks could not be joining us at a more perfect time, and we are eager to incorporate his skill set to help grow our beloved brand across the country.”
Earlier this year, Bojangles announced the launch of its expansion strategy, including a streamlined menu, new building design and new staffing model. The strategy was developed to simplify operations and enhance the guest experience. The brand has implemented this new strategy within 11 restaurants, most recently in Little Elm, Texas; San Antonio, Texas, Lancaster, Texas; Euless, Texas; Sanford, Florida; Memphis, Tennessee; Clarksville, Arkansas; Monroe, Louisiana; Ruston, Louisiana; Canton, Ohio; and Columbus, Ohio.
From November 13 through 15, Bojangles will attend the Restaurant Finance and Development Conference (RFDC) in Las Vegas. The brand will exhibit at booth 313, offering a virtual reality experience that provides prospects an exclusive inside look at Bojangles’ Biscuit Theatre. Brooks Speirs, Jim Cannon, and other key members of the Bojangles development team also will attend the conference.
Bojangles’ compounding success and record AUV of $2.1 million for full-size franchised restaurants has continued to position the concept for further expansion. With 37 percent of sales at company-operated restaurants coming during the breakfast daypart and a variety of prototypes with features such as its ‘Biscuit Theatre,” the brand’s key differentiators continue to attract multi-unit operators.
