Bruegger’s Bagels, a leading fast casual bagel bakery known for its fresh-baked New York-style bagels, announced a multiunit development agreement with West Palm Beach, Florida-based Great Service Restaurants.

The agreement calls for Great Service Restaurants to open five locations during the next five years throughout South Florida’s Broward and Palm Beach Counties. A clear indication of Bruegger’s Bagels’ appeal with seasoned restaurant investor-operator groups, each of the forthcoming bagel bakeries will be run as cobranded destinations with Jamba Juice.

“Pairing Bruegger’s Bagels with Great Service Restaurants is a fantastic match,” says Paul Carolan, chief development officer for Le Duff America Inc., the Dallas-based parent company of Bruegger’s Bagels. “The brand has a unique ability to become deeply rooted in the communities it serves. Great Service Restaurants shares our passion for community, quality and providing exceptional guest experiences.”

Great Service Restaurants currently owns and operates more than 10 Jamba Juice stores in the area. The company’s cobranded locations with Bruegger’s Bagels will bridge the bagel bakery concept with the beverage product innovator.

“It’s clear that Bruegger’s Bagels guests absolutely love the food and atmosphere. From the get go we’ve been impressed with the loyalty the brand commands,” says Arturo Zindel, partner with Great Service Restaurants, and an experienced franchise development executive who previously partnered in one of the largest chains of Pizza Hut and KFC cobranded locations in Latin America. “It is important for us to be able to attract a wide variety of consumers, all of which appreciate great-tasting products offered in a warm, welcoming environment where they can relax or conveniently take their order to go – and that’s exactly what Bruegger’s Bagels and Jamba Juice offer together.”

The first of Great Service Restaurants’ cobranded stores is expected to open in 2014. The company is currently in the initial development phase of this first unit.

Bruegger’s Bagels showcases an array of fresh menu items, including a selection of New York-style bagels that are boiled and baked onsite. Plus, the brand offers its signature made-in-Vermont cream cheese, as well as handcrafted breakfast and lunch sandwiches and salads. Known as a strong supporter of the communities it serves, Bruegger’s Bagels will continue the tradition in South Florida.
