Bubbakoo’s Burritos, a nationwide brand known for its Mexican-fusion style cuisine, continues to expand throughout these troubling times, creating jobs for people in need and providing families with a new place to get a fresh meal.
The popular Modified-Mex chain was founded in 2008 by seasoned industry veterans and restaurateurs, Bill Hart and Paul Altero. Their shared vision was to create something different; a build-your-own-burrito restaurant with fresh ingredients and a strong focus on customer service. With a surf & skate décor & vibe inspired by coastal life, every visit offers a short getaway. Since the first location in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, Bubbakoo’s has expanded significantly and did not plan on stopping their momentum.
However, when COVID-19 stalled the nation, founders Hart and Altero had to push back their expansion plans and focus on maintaining their current stores and the wellbeing of their employees. Their 32 active stores remain open for curbside pickup and delivery, with a return to normalcy almost in sight.
As the country starts to reopen, the expansion plans have returned to the forefront of Hart and Altero’s minds. In the next few weeks, several new Bubbakoo’s Burritos locations will be opening across New Jersey and New York, next being Monroe. Each location will provide at least 20 jobs to start and will allow new towns to experience the food at Bubbakoo’s.
“We’re so excited to get back to our vision of expanding throughout the country, we want everyone to be able to go to a Bubbakoo’s,” says Hart.
The Monroe location will open its doors for curbside pickup and delivery on October 9 at 554 NY-17M, Monroe, NY, and a traditional Grand Opening will follow in the future.
