Bufalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar threw open the doors of its 150th location in Woodlands, Texas, in early October. This milestone follows on the wings of the late September opening of its 100th franchise in West Lafayette, Indiana, which joined 16 other hot stores in Indiana in serving up Buffalo Wild Wings’ specialty—chicken legs and chicken wings spun in 12 signature sauces, from Teriyaki to Better-Be-Ready Blazin’™.
With 36% growth and record sales of $173 million in 2000, Buffalo Wild Wings was placed among the nation’s 10 fastest growing restaurant chains according to market analysts Technomic, Inc. The company was also recently honored with a 2001 Ernst & Young “Entrepreneur of the Year” Award for president and CEO Sally Smith’s vision of Buffalo Wild Wings.
“Our expansion plan is aggressive,” notes Smith. “We expect to grow more than 30% again in 2001 and 2002, a goal that is certainly possible with the excellent franchisees that we are attracting to our concept.”
Buffalo Wild Wings caters to customers’ desire for spicy food with a complete menu of appetizers, entrée salads, burgers, chicken, and specialty sandwiches, as well as popular kids’ selection. The menu also features unique items such as Buffalo Legs, Buffalo Chips™ (thick potato slices cut crosswise, deep-fried and seasoned with sour cream and herbs), and the Buffalito™, a soft flour tortilla filled with chicken, chili, or vegetables and the customer’s choice of Buffalo Wild Wings’ sauce. Buffalo Wild Wings also has a full bar.
Buffalo Wild Wings has locations in 26 states.
“Buffalo Wild Wings has a relaxed environment that caters to a family looking for an affordable meal and to a group of friends who want a great place to watch their favorite team on a giant-screen TV,” comments Smith. In addition to being the nation’s largest purveyor of National Trivia Network, an interactive trivia game bringing people together in good-natured competition, Buffalo Wild Wings offers traditional diversions like darts and pinball for game-loving guests.
Founded near the Ohio State campus in Columbus in 1982, Minneapolis-based Buffalo Wild Wings plans to open their 50th corporate location in November.
