Burger Boss, the burger concept in Elmwood Park, Illinois, will open a Chicago location at the intersection of Belmont and Southport in early November. After two successful years with their first store in Elmwood Park, owners—and brothers—Anthony and Nick Gambino are looking to expand the Burger Boss brand and serve their burgers in the heart of Chicago at their newest counter-service location.

Burger Boss gives guests the ability to be the boss and customize their meal or they may choose from the restaurant’s signature menu.  Although Burger Boss has many options for carnivores, it also offers options for vegetarians, including grilled portabella mushrooms and black bean veggie patties.

With a menu similar to the original Burger Boss, the Southport location will offer a number of signature burgers such as the Southport Boss, made with Applewood-smoked bacon, Cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, Boss Sauce, pickles, and grilled onions on a brioche bun. The 8AM Burger doubles as a brunch dish made with cage-free fried egg, American cheese, Applewood-smoked bacon, ketchup, Boss Sauce, lettuce, and tomato on a brioche bun.

Customers can also build their own, choosing from a wide variety of bread options, including pretzel and whole wheat buns; toppings such as house made guacamole, sautéed mushrooms, and roasted red peppers; and single, double, and triple patties to act as the burger base. In addition to burgers and sandwiches, Burger Boss also offers fries made from Idaho potatoes or sweet potato fries, both fried in vegetable oil containing zero trans fats.

Tossed salads round out the Southport menu with selections including the Chopped Boss with romaine, bacon, carrots, tomatoes, and cucumbers topped with hardboiled egg and crunchy croutons; or the Cran Bleu Chicken Boss with romaine, blue cheese, grilled chicken, cranberries, and sliced almonds.

Burger Boss’ milkshakes are topped with whipped cream and available in flavors such as vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry.

Every month, Burger Boss creates signature burgers and sandwiches and offers a constant rotation of seasonal toppings and sauces. Owners Anthony and Nick Gambino have also incorporated environmentally-friendly and recycled furnishings into the 35-seat space, such as wall tiles made from recycled materials and reduced-wattage lighting, and sustainable applications, including biodegradable cups and dispensers that only release one utensil or napkin at a time to reduce waste.
