Miami, Fl— May 30,2002—Burger King Corporation announced today that on June 3rd it will launch a new line of sandwiches called the BK Back Porch Grillers. According to company reports, the new sandwiches were “inspired by the taste of homemade seasoned burgers cooked to perfection on backyard grills,” and will be permanent additions to the Burger King menu.
Each of the new sandwiches features a bakery style bun, and two seasoned flame-broiled beef patties. The BK Homestyle Griller, includes toppings such as fresh lettuce, red ripe tomatoes, mustard, pickles, and ketchup. The second sandwich, the BK Smokehouse Cheddar Griller is topped with smoked natural cheddar cheese, two bacon, lettuce, and smokehouse sauce.

“We went back to our roots—the Burger King flame-broiled heritage—to create burgers that taste like the burgers people grill at home when they have time,” said John H. Dasburg, chairman, CEO and president, Burger King Corporation.

To promote the Grillers, Burger King Corporation is offering free Minute Maid Frozen Lemonade drink with the purchase of a Grillers Value Meal through June 30th and sponsoring billboards that have been transformed into “grill boards” on Los Angeles’ Sunset Boulevard and Miami’s Dixie Highway, US 1.
