Burger King Corp. announced today the appointment of Mike Kappitt as senior vice president global business intelligence and strategy, effective immediately. Kappitt will report to Russ Klein, president, global marketing, strategy and innovation.

Kappitt has been with Burger King Corp. since September 2002. Most recently, Kappitt served as vice president consumer insights and performance analysis, where he supported development of new products, promotions, advertising, and strategic platforms for the BURGER KING® core consumer. In his new role, Kappitt will oversee consumer insights and performance analytics globally, as well as the trade area analytics that inform development decisions. He will also retain his responsibilities for global sales forecasting, and for pricing decisions for new and existing products.

“Analytics drive business decisions and strategic planning,” Klein explained. “Mike has played a vital role in helping us understand the impact of our marketing decisions and the reasons behind our success. In his new role, Mike will help us identify the local characteristics of our global SuperFan, enabling us to tailor our strategies for each market.”

Kappitt graduated from Florida International University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
