BurgerFi, one of the nation’s fastest growing, all-natural “better burger” restaurant concepts, announced plans to expand its presence in the greater Washington D.C. metro region. With five existing locations in the area, the most recent of which opened in Alexandria, Virginia, this month, the brand is seeking qualified franchise candidates to open restaurants in target markets throughout the region, including Montgomery County, Maryland, and Fairfax County, Virginia. Propelled by a recent surge in franchise development, these expansion efforts in D.C. are part of BurgerFi’s overall growth plans, with the company expected to end the year with 24 openings in the U.S. and four abroad.
“Consumers today are looking for brands they can trust, and our commitment to sustainability and complete transparency when it comes to our ingredients has placed BurgerFi at the forefront of the ‘better burger’ segment, as well as enabled us to surpass our established competitors in terms of growth in just five years,” says Corey Winograd, chief executive officer of BurgerFi. “Due to our success in the region, we’ve identified the greater D.C. metro area as a key market with tremendous potential to catapult our presence through franchise development. We are eager to welcome new franchisees to the growing BurgerFi family, and look forward to connecting with qualified candidates in the area who share our passion for providing a truly exceptional product and experience.”
In addition to its domestic growth, BurgerFi has also accelerated its international expansion, recently celebrating the opening of its first location in London. Located in London’s Wembley Central Square, the new restaurant is owned and operated by franchise group Ground Round Limited. Led by entrepreneur Jamie Wood, son of Rolling Stones’ guitarist Ron Wood, and hospitality industry veteran Constantine Kulukundis, the group plans to develop a total of 10 new restaurants throughout the U.K. over the next several years. Coupled with its ongoing development, BurgerFi is on track to report record-high system-wide sales at the end of this year with a projected increase of 20 percent.
To continue the momentum in 2017, BurgerFi plans to open 35 new restaurants next year, including the company’s first locations in Panama and Kuwait. With global demand and enormous opportunity for expansion, BurgerFi is poised for another year of phenomenal growth and will continue to seek qualified candidates to expand the brand’s presence domestically and internationally.
BurgerFi is currently seeking multi-unit restaurant operators with a desire to provide an unmatched customer experience to join its rapid expansion across the U.S. and abroad.
