California Tortilla Jumps on Ramen Trend with New Burrito

Starting today, California Tortilla will offer a whole new way for ramen fans to get their noodle fix—no chopsticks required. The fast-casual brand introduced the Ramen Burrito, available for a limited time only.

Rather than rice, the Ramen Burrito begins with an authentic Asian noodle base; from there, customers can choose either chicken, steak, or pork, and top the burrito with a sweet red chili sauce, Sriracha pickled onions, fresh avocado, spinach, corn, scallions, and cilantro. To kick up the heat a notch, customers can pair the Ramen Burrito with the Asian-influenced Bee Sting Thai Sweet Chili Hot Sauce from the brand’s Wall of Flame.

“Ramen was one of the hottest food trends of 2014, and our customers are always excited to try new flavors,” says Keith Goldman, California Tortilla’s chief operating officer and creator of the Ramen Burrito. “So we reinvented the traditional noodle bowl without the broth, but with all the classic flavors, and wrapped it up in a flour tortilla. It’s one of my favorite new menu items, and I can’t wait for our customers to try it.”

The Ramen Burrito is available from now through April at California Tortilla locations nationwide.
