California Tortilla will launch a radio campaign this summer to celebrate the fact that Washingtonian Magazine readers voted them Washington, D.C.’s “Best Burrito.” The East Coast Cal-Mex chain will have their customers pitch in by submitting commercial scripts on why the restaurant won the award. First-, second-, and third-place commercial writers will receive cash prizes of $1,000, $500, and $250, respectively, along with free burritos for an entire year.

“Since our customers voted California Tortilla the Best Burrito, we thought they would be the best people to convey why we deserved to win,” says director of marketing Stacey Kane. “It is another way for us to engage our loyal fans.”
