California Tortilla Sets Sights On Raising $25K For Hungry Kids

For the fifth year in a row, California Tortilla is helping fight child hunger with Share Our Strength’s annual Dine Out for No Kid Hungry. 

This year, California Tortilla and its 40 locations aim to raise $25,000 during a two-week campaign, encouraging customers to donate $1 to the cause at any location nationwide from Monday, September 9, through Saturday, September 21. 

Customers who donate will receive a coupon valid for a free taco on any visit from Sunday, September 22, through Monday, September 30. 

Additionally, California Tortilla Group will make an additionalcontribution, matching the dollar amount of the restaurant that raises the most money.

“We at California Tortilla are thrilled to do our part to end child hunger and contribute to such an important cause," says California Tortilla president Bob Phillips. “This is a great way to rally our communities and make sure our kids are getting the nutrition they need to thrive.”

Over 16 million kids in the United States, nearly 20 percent of all kids in the country, live with food insecurity. In 2012, California Tortilla raised more than $38,000 for Share Our Strength's Dine Out for No Kid Hungry in a three-week campaign.
