Wayback Burgers, a Connecticut-based franchise with over 85 locations nationwide, announces its $3,330 cash prizewinner of its national burger-eating contest, The Triple Triple Challenge. Molly Schuyler of California devoured the Triple Triple in 38.95 seconds at the Medford, Oregon location and is Wayback Burgers first female winner. Wayback Burgers hosted its seventh annual Triple Triple burger-eating contest on National Cheeseburger Day, September 18. The Triple Triple Burger is Wayback Burgers’ novelty menu item—a monstrous nine-patty burger with nine slices of American cheese, topped with lettuce and tomato.
This year, Wayback put a spin on the contest where customers were encouraged to submit their own training videos. Throughout August and until September 18, guests submitted their training videos online to feature their own unique training strategy to take on the Triple Triple Burger. Wayback Burgers announced training video winner, Paul Gallagher Saba, for the most original video and awarded a $100 Wayback Burgers gift card prize. Additionally, those who took on the Triple Triple Challenge posted their attempt to tackle the colossal burger on the Wayback Burgers wall of fame.
“Each year the Triple Triple Challenge becomes bigger and better,” says John Eucalitto, president of Wayback Burgers. “In fact, this is the first year we’ve launched our own microsite to host the contest to make it even easier for guests to enter. We enjoy hosting this fun annual contest for our guests as a way to give back to our local customer base. This year, we are so excited to announce that we have our first female winner, who demolished a Triple Triple burger in only 38.95 seconds!”
