As the chain explored various candidates to augment the recently introduced line of chocolate, strawberry and vanilla shakes and malts, the obvious choice was the modern-day classic shake flavor made with OREO cookie pieces.
"We introduced our Hand-Scooped Ice Cream Shakes & Malts last year to complement Carl's Jr.'s line of high-quality burgers, like our 100 percent Angus beef Six Dollar Burgers(TM)," said Brad Haley, executive vice president of marketing for Carl's Jr. "As the most recognizable four letters in the cookie world, OREO was a natural pick for our first featured flavor. The addition of those classic cookies is one of the best ways we know of to make our truly great shakes and malts even better."
The 16-oz. milkshakes are served in clear plastic cups with clear plastic domed lids filled with whipped topping and are available at most Carl's Jr. restaurants for a suggested retail price of $2.89, although pricing may vary.
