Carvel named Chris Campagna, former Atlanta Bread Company vice president of marketing, as its new vice president of brand marketing.

In his new role at Carvel, Campagna will work closely with Carvel President Scott Colwell, franchisees, and key associates to continue evolving and building the Carvel brand. Campagna's primary responsibilities will include overseeing the Carvel marketing vision, including the development and implementation of marketing, innovation, and advertising campaigns.

Campagna joins Carvel just as the ice cream company turns 80 years old next year. The company's main focus throughout this period ahead will include reinforcing its brand positioning and strategies as well as continuing to penetrate core markets in the Northeast and South Florida.

"Chris is an exceptional leader and holds a broad skill set that will be helpful in propelling Carvel forward," says Scott Colwell, president of Carvel. "I'm confident his extensive experience repositioning and building well-known restaurant brands will help us achieve our goals."

Campagna brings more than 18 years of marketing experience to Carvel. Most recently, he served as vice president of marketing at Atlanta Bread Company International where he led all marketing and branding initiatives. Before Atlanta Bread Company, Campagna worked with other restaurant industry leaders such as Don Pablo's Mexican Kitchen and Papa John's Pizza, assuming high-level positions within each of those brands.

"It's an honor to join the Carvel team," Campagna says. "I am eager to help tell the story of such a beloved brand."

As the first retail ice cream franchise in the country, Carvel has become a recognized name in the industry. Since its founding in 1934, Carvel has expanded its menu to include an extensive line of hand-dipped and soft serve ice cream, take-home novelty treats, and ice cream cakes.
