Cava, the Washington, DC-based Mediterranean fast-casual restaurant and culinary brand, announced the opening of its first restaurant in the Fenway neighborhood of Boston. The restaurant, located at 1346 Boylston Street, Boston MA 02215, will officially open on Friday, January 19 at 10:45 AM. The first 100 guests through the door on opening day will also receive a free Lark Fine Foods cookie made exclusively for Cava.
“We’re very excited to join the Boston community and the world-class restaurants and chefs that call Boston home,” Brett Schulman, Cava CEO says. “Cava started seven years ago as a full-service restaurant in DC. That heritage, alongside our chef-driven menu led by co-founder Chef Dimitri Moshovitis, allows us to create unique offerings of customizable, bold flavors that fit perfectly with your lifestyle. At Cava, we believe food should fuel your life and we’re excited to bring that mission and energy to Boston.”
Prior to opening day – Cava will host “Community Day” on Thursday, January 18th – providing free lunch between the hours of 12:00PM to 2:00PM and dinner from 5:00PM to 7:00PM. All meals will be gratis, and Cava will also take donations during Community Day to benefit local non-profit partner Future Chefs, which arms teens with skills needed to become the next generation of thriving culinary professionals.
Cava was founded in 2011 by childhood friends Ted Xenohristos, Ike Grigoropoulos, and Executive Chef Dimitri Moshovitis. Cava was created to bring modern, authentic, and vibrant Mediterranean food to a wider audience, using ingredients made from scratch in-house every day. The menu is specially created to deliver an ultra-personalized experience for each and every guest – featuring over 50 offerings and 58 million possible combinations of bold ingredients and flavors. CAVA is committed to working with best-in-class food partners including local grower and rancher partners like Pineland Farms in New Gloucester, ME. In Boston, Cava has partnered with Lark Fine Foods to offer a custom Salted Chocolate Chip Cookie which will be available exclusively at Fenway and future Cava locations.
This opening marks Cava’s first restaurant in Boston and kicks off local expansion throughout 2018. Future restaurants in the greater Boston area include:
Dedham: at Legacy Place shopping center [spring 2018]
Hingham: at the Derby Street center [summer 2018]

“We’re thrilled Cava selected The Harlo as the location for its debut in Boston,” says Charley Leatherbee, head of Commercial Development operations for Skanska in Boston. “Our goal at each of our residential buildings is to provide residents with a well-rounded healthy lifestyle, and CAVA’s mission to serve great food that nourishes the body and spirit fits well into that philosophy.”
