To promote its joining of the Atlanta Falcons "team'', Checkers Drive-In Restaurants is introducing in the Atlanta market a special Big Falcons Combo, a half-pound double cheeseburger, large order of fries and soft drink served in a special 44-ounce Falcons collector's cup.
"We are proud to have Checkers as part of our marketing team,'' stated Mark Fuhrman, director of corporate sales for the Falcons. "We are excited by the way Checkers plans to promote the Falcons in all of its locations throughout the Atlanta marketplace and making the Falcons its primary message during our season.''
Checkers Drive-In Restaurants, Inc., which operates restaurants under the Checkers® and Rally's Hamburgers® names, is also an official sponsor of the New Orleans Saints, St. Louis Rams and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Mr. Turer noted that each of those teams reached the playoffs in the year they signed a sponsorship agreement with Checkers.
"Hopefully the Checkers `good luck' charm will boost the Atlanta Falcons in their quest for the Super Bowl,'' stated Mr. Turer.
As part of its promotional efforts introducing the Big Falcon Combo in the Atlanta market, Checkers Drive-In Restaurants is airing a 30-second television spot featuring a Falcons `Super Fan' singing the quick service restaurant chain's `You Gotta Eat!' theme song. In addition, fans can stop by their local Atlanta area Checkers and enter a contest to win season tickets for the Atlanta Falcons' 2002 season or tickets to the next Falcons' home game.
