Chi’Lantro, award-winning fast-casual Korean BBQ concept, announced the official opening of its newest location in the South Shore District, on January 9. In celebration of the opening, Chi’Lantro has committed to donating 100 percent of sales from their preview events on January 6 and 7 to charity, where guests will choose to pay what they want for their meal as a donation to one of four causes selected by Chi’Lantro and friends.
“Our success has led to so many incredible opportunities and giving back has always been one of the most important ones to us,” says Jae Kim, founder of Chi’Lantro. “I can’t think of a better way to celebrate our fifth location than turning a spotlight on four deserving causes that we’re honored to be donating our preview sales to.”
The community is invited to visit the new South Shore location on January 6 for lunch from 12:30 to 2 p.m. and dinner from 6 to 9 p.m. and January 7 from 5 to 9 p.m., to enjoy Chi’Lantro’s offerings for a good cause. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy food and drinks while choosing to “pay-what-you-what” as a 100 percent donation to one of four charities, including CareBOX Program, Austin Animal Center, Mobile Loaves & Fishes and Chi’Lantro’s honored charity, Children’s Tumor Foundation, dedicated to driving research, expanding knowledge and advancing care for those affected by neurofibromatosis (NF), a genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body.
“NF is a disorder that’s impacted not only my family, but so many others,” says Kim. “Our team is proud to bring the community together to drive awareness and support for not only a cause that’s near to me, but also the causes that are significant to friends of Chi’Lantro.”
Like Chi’Lantro’s current locations across Austin, South Shore will offer favorites including The Original Kimchi Fries, Korean fried chicken wings and customizable Korean BBQ-inspired offerings like rice bowls, salads, tacos, burritos and more.
Chi’Lantro South Shore is located at 1414 Shore District Drive Unit 102 and will be open 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week, beginning January 9.
