Max Sheets, founder and CEO of budding chicken franchise Chick N Max, was recently named a 2023 Executive of the Year by the Wichita Business Journal.

The Executive of the Year is one of the highest honors given out by the Wichita Business Journal newsroom. It recognizes business leaders who are leading their companies to great heights through finance, development, or overall direction.

“Launching and expanding a franchise business of any kind can be a huge undertaking that requires a great team,” Sheets said. “I’m extremely honored to receive this award, but it really is a reflection of the great work done by the entire Chick N Max team.”

The recognition comes at a momentous time for the prospering franchise, which has opened its first three franchisee-owned restaurants this year, and now has six restaurants serving its chef-crafted sandwiches, golden fried tenders, and almond wood smoked chicken and wings across Kansas, Texas, and South Dakota.

Chick N Max is set for even greater growth in the coming years, thanks to an active franchise pipeline that stands at more than 50 restaurants. Company plans call for opening as many as 5-7 new restaurants over the next 12 months and at least that many each year thereafter.
