In America, one in five children struggle with hunger. This September, Chronic Tacos is joining thousands of restaurants nationwide to raise funds for No Kid Hungry in their restaurants. From September 8 through September 25, Chronic Tacos customers who donate $2 or more will receive a coupon for a free taco on their next visit.

“No Kid Hungry is a wonderful organization doing great things to end Childhood Hunger and at Chronic Tacos we share their belief that no child in America should go hungry,” says Michael Mohammed, CEO of Chronic Tacos. “We feed thousands of customers a day, so it’s only fitting that we do our part to help those children who go without the necessary meals they need each day.”

Last year, Chronic Tacos raised 150,000 meals, and this year is looking to make a bigger impact. Chronic Tacos’ 2016 goal is to raise $25,000—or 250,000 meals for kids struggling with hunger here in the U.S.

Funds raised in support of No Kid Hungry’s work to connect vulnerable children to effective nutrition programs like School Breakfast and Summer Meals, creating public-private partnerships that work together to identify and break down barriers to giving children access to meals, and teaching low-income families how to stretch their food budgets and cook healthy, affordable meals.

“Everyone—private citizens, businesses, policymakers, and nonprofits—has a role in helping end childhood hunger in America,” says Billy Shore, founder and CEO of Share Our Strength, the nonprofit that runs the No Kid Hungry campaign. “I encourage everyone to dine out often at participating restaurants wherever they are this September. Then visit NoKidHungry.org to join this national movement to ensure that every child in America has access to the nutritious food they need, every day.”
