Church’s Chicken is currently offering 175 high school seniors and their parents the chance to take some of the heat out of the cost of college tuition. From now through February 27, 2015, students in qualifying states may apply for a $1,000 scholarship from the Church’s Scholars Program, a program of Church’s Partners Foundation.
The $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to 175 high school seniors in the following participating states: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Mexico, Nevada, Tennessee, or Texas. The scholarship fund, which has more than tripled since its launch last year, seeks to help students in the communities in which Church’s Chicken serves by providing life-changing opportunities to residents, particularly for students’ higher education.
“We’re so pleased that we have been able to grow the Church’s Scholars Program to provide significantly more opportunities to students this year,” says Tony Lutfi, Church’s Chicken franchisee and board member of the Church’s Partners Foundation. “For families, the $1,000 scholarship really helps with the rising cost of higher education and will encourage the recipients to continue pursuing their dreams.”
Funds for the Church’sScholars Program were raised through the sale of Church’s coupon booklets at participating company and franchisee restaurants. The coupon booklets featured $15 in savings and were sold for $1 in November and December 2014. Additional program funding was generously donated by Church’s employees and vendors.
