"We are very excited that the Aruba market represents a significant development opportunity for Cinnabon, and we look forward to introducing travelers, airport employees, and nearby residents to our extensive lines of delicious treats,” said Maarten van Romodt, co-owner of Rotonde Management, N.V., Cinnabon’s franchise partner in Aruba.
van Romodt and business partner Onno van Romodt plan to open eight additional Cinnabon locations in the Netherlands Antilles by the end of 2010, two of which are slated to be in airports. They also operate the recently opened Cinnabon bakery at Hato International Airport in Willemstad, Curaçao.
“We always have our eyes open for international airport opportunities,” said Mike Shattuck, Vice President of International Operations for FOCUS Brands Inc.™, parent company of Cinnabon. “Airport bakeries work very well for us because of high traffic counts and captive audiences, and we are pleased at how well Riena Beatrix International Airport fits this bill. In addition to our new Aruba and Curaçao locations, we currently have bakeries at Queen Alia International Airport in Amman."
