City Barbeque first opened its doors in Columbus, Ohio, in December 1999, and will commemorate the occasion with a citywide celebration on Saturday, December 14. Fans of the barbeque brand outside central Ohio can join in the festivities, too, with a week’s worth of giveaways on City Barbeque’s social media channels.
Celebrations in the fast-casual’s eight central Ohio joints will last all day on Saturday, December 14. The first 20 folks at each Columbus location (Arlington, Gahanna, Grove City, Newark, Polaris, Powell, Reynoldsburg, and Westerville) will receive a swag bag, with apparel, sauce, rub, and a City Barbeque gift card worth either $20 or $200. You can’t celebrate a 20th birthday without cake, so every order placed in each Columbus joint for dine-in or carryout will receive a free piece of homemade Triple Chocolate Cake (while supplies last). And Family Packs—with pulled pork, buns, sides, and cornbread to feed two adults and two kids—will be $20 for dine-in or carryout all day long. (These offers cannot be redeemed via online/phone orders or third-party delivery services.)
For City Barbeque fans located outside of Ohio, the brand will celebrate 20 years with a week of giveaways on social media.
“When we first opened in that old doughnut shop in Arlington, we never dreamed we’d be where we are today,” says City Barbeque founder and CEO Rick Malir. “We’re just so lucky to have spent the last 20 years serving and creating happiness with our award-winning barbeque, and we can’t wait for folks to help us celebrate.”
