Cold Stone Creameryis excited to announce, for a third consecutive year, a partnership with the Discovery Channel celebrating Shark Week. Shark Week 2015 premieres on the Discovery Channel on Sunday, July 5, but customers can enjoy the Shark Week Frenzy Creation and the Great Blue Cupcakes in stores now through July 14, 2015.
The Shark Week Frenzy Creation is made with Blue Sweet Cream Ice Cream mixed with graham cracker piecrust and gummy sharks. The Great Blue Cupcake is a chocolate cup filled with a layer of yellow cake and Blue Sweet Cream Ice Cream, topped with blue fluffy frosting and a gummy shark.
"Every summer, over 30 million viewers tune in to Shark Week to see the fantastic shows that the Discovery Channel features all week long," says Kate Unger, senior vice president of marketing at Cold Stone Creamery. "With our brand, we offer amazing Ice Cream and an extremely fun in-store experience; so it's a pleasure to be able to partner with another iconic and fun brand such as the Discovery Channel and Shark Week. Everyone across the country loves tuning in and then coming into our stores for our Shark Week Creations. The Blue Sweet Cream Ice Cream and gummy sharks are a huge hit with our guests."
The Great Blue Cupcake is also available in stores during this promotion and can be ordered in advance online. "Every year we hear from more and more die-hard Shark Week fans that love having the Cold Stone cupcakes on-hand at their Shark Week viewing parties," says Unger. "They also are just a great fit for summer parties in general. Shark Week is the best week!"
As part of the summer Shark Week promotion, Cold Stone Creamery is holding a contest where one lucky winner will win a trip for four to the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort in the Bahamas. To enter, fans are encouraged to share a picture of their Shark Week Creations on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using #sharkweekfrenzy.
Lastly, the fun continues when Cold Stone Creamery and the Discovery Channel will host a Twitter Chat on July 2 about shark and ice cream trivia. Participants will have an opportunity to win Cold Stone Creamery gift cards and Shark Week swag items for their answers. #sharkchat
